About Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI)

ADI is the international federation of Alzheimer associations around the world, in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and in consultative status with the United Nations (UN). ADI currently has 90 members, each member being the Alzheimer association in their country who support people living with dementia and their families, of which the Alzheimer’s Association was a founding member. ADI believes that the key to winning the fight against dementia lies in a unique combination of global solutions and local knowledge. As such, it works locally, by empowering Alzheimer associations to promote and offer care and support for people living with dementia and their carers, whilst working globally to focus attention on dementia. There are over 46 million people estimated to be living with dementia around the world and this number is set to reach 131.5 million in 2050. ADI’s vision is prevention, care and inclusion today, and cure tomorrow. Visit our website to find out more.

Even if you’re not attending the 2018 Alzheimer’s Association AIM Advocacy Forum next week in Washington, D.C., you can still participate and make your voice heard by joining our Thunderclap on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. Help us raise awareness and compel Congress to act in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease.

ADD YOUR VOICE TO END ALZHEIMER’S!

Alzheimer’s is the most expensive disease in the United States, costing taxpayers $21 million every hour. And the cost isn’t just financial — 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, and 5.7  million Americans are living with the disease.

Investing in medical research has a proven history of saving lives. This is why we need you to tell Congress to make Alzheimer’s a priority by increasing research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

On June 19, 2018 more than 1,000 Alzheimer’s Association/ Alzheimer’s Impact Movement advocates from all 50 states will flood Capitol Hill to ask Congress for this critical funding. Add your voice by joining our Thunderclap. The louder our voices, the more awareness we raise. Increased awareness = increased funding, which brings us closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

Help us make some noise! Join our Thunderclap to help end Alzheimer’s.
