African-Americans have an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. African-American volunteers, both with and without Alzheimer’s or another dementia, are needed to participate in clinical trials. Alzheimer’s Association TrialMatch® is a free matching service that connects individuals with Alzheimer’s, caregivers, healthy volunteers and physicians with current clinical studies.

Actor and longtime Alzheimer’s Association Champion Peter Gallagher will emcee the National Alzheimer’s Dinner on March 28, part of the 2017 Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forum. Gallagher, whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s for 20 years, has been an outspoken supporter of the cause since the early 1990s.
