Should I Hire In-Home Help Privately or Through an Agency - Should I Hire In-Home Help Privately or Through an Agency
If you are a family caregiver and realize that you can't do it alone and help is needed, then congratulations are in order! This is undoubtedly a big step in the right direction and probably not a minute too soon. The wise decision to hire outside help is definitely not a sign of weakness or "giving up", but instead just using good common sense, realizing your limitations, and having a little foresight. Most families usually need some type of home care assistant to help with their loved one's personal care and activities of daily living. This might include assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, feeding, medication assistance, walking and exercising, shopping and running errands, housekeeping, laundry, and offering companionship. Perhaps your loved one can't be left alone and needs supervision for safety reasons to allow time for yourself or to get away for a while. 03/29/2012

Choosing Home Care; Checklist - Choosing Home Care; Checklist
Choosing the right home care agency from the start can save a lot of time, frustration and possible disappointment later. First realize that Home Care Agencies are not all the same. As with any business, some companies are better managed and operated then their counterparts. Therefore focus your immediate attention on learning as much about an agency possible including their reputation in the community and qualifications of the owners/ managers. Be sure to select the right type of agency that actually meets you or your loved one's specific needs. Is a medical skilled home health care agency for nursing or physical therapy required or a non-medical supportive home care agency for personal care assistance or both needed? Research national accreditations, collect knowledgeable referrals, and personal recommendations from creditable sources whenever possible. Use the following checklist compiled by our experienced home care nurses to help you choose the right home care agency. 03/29/2011

Can I Get Paid to Care for a Family Member? - Can I Get Paid to Care for a Family Member?
The short answer is "Maybe". Some states provide programs that pay family members to care for loved ones at home however they are usually somewhat limited. These programs vary widely from state to state and even within the same state. Although most states offer some type of respite or temporary relief for family caregivers, they often won't pay them on a regular basis to provide care leaving big gaps in caregiver services. 03/29/2012

About Certified Senior Advisors - Zoltan Gaspar (CSA), Certified Senior Advisor - About Certified Senior Advisors
CSA educates professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients. We believe that the right kind of planning, recommendations and referrals can make aging a state to be savored instead of a fate to be feared. For those who work with seniors, that means understanding the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors-and how these factors work together. CSAs are able to integrate this into their professional practices, no matter what field they're in. They've learned how incredibly gratifying it is to help seniors achieve their goals, and the seniors they've worked with have learned how important it is to work with someone who truly understands their age-related circumstances. 08/08/2012
