High stress may be connected to memory problems – Alzheimer’s disease
New research says stress may be linked with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a decline in memory and thinking skills that can be a prelude to Alzheimer’s disease. In the study of older adults, feeling stressed was associated with a 30 percent greater risk of cognitive impairment. It’s not yet clear whether the stress causes Alzheimer’s, whether the decline into Alzheimer’s is what causes the high levels of stress or if both issues are involved.
