Age of Champions is a 50-minute documentary film that follows a 100 year old tennis player, 86 year old pole vaulter, his 89 year old arch-rival, and baby boomer basketball grandmothers. Age of Champions premiered at prestigious film festivals across the country and the Washington Post described the film as “infectiously inspiring”. Age of Champions will be broadcasting nationally on PBS later this summer to millions of viewers. Watch the trailer and learn more about the film.
I’m reaching out today because hundreds of communities have hosted screenings of Age of Champions as a way to engage with the people in their communities and I believe you may be able to use our film as a way to inspire and engage those you serve.
Event hosts typically use the film as a way to entertain and inspire your staff, the people you serve each day, but also to engage with the broader community — as a way to reach out and introduce yourself to those who may not be as familiar with your organization.
The most successful screening events have been ones where the filmmaker hosts your event, shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and holds a Q&A session with the audience. Filmmaker-hosted events typically have increased attendance, receive local press and media, and bring another level of excitement to the festivities. Additionally, if you decide to invite the filmmaker to host your event, you will receive customizable versions of the film’s art designs and photos so you can create direct mail invitations and posters with your name and logo.
