Carbondale office boasts new materials in lending library

New York Times bestseller “Still Alice,” “What’s Happening to Grandpa?” “Alzheimer’s from the Inside Out” — these are just a handful of titles from the newly expanded lending library in the Carbondale office of the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 320 E. Walnut St., Suite A. Purchase of the new materials was made possible by generous donations from the Friends of the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter.
Materials are wide-ranging and focus on everything from activity planning for the person with dementia to biographies of those with the disease to resources for caregivers. The library also includes books for children and teens, audio books and resources for medical and care professionals.
Also available to the public is materials about Alzheimer’s Association programs and services.
Books are loaned out for two weeks; video are loaned out for one week. Those who check out materials may call the office during business hours before the due day to renew provided there are no other requests for a title. A $15 deposit per video is required at the time of the loan and borrowers will be responsible for replacement or repair if materials are lost or damaged.
