The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is right around the corner, and this year is an exceptional one for our ALZ Stars team.
Setting a record with 150 participants, the team running to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association®, Greater Illinois Chapter has raised more than $118,000 to date. The ALZ Stars team members will travel from several different parts of the country to take their marks at Grant Park Sunday, October 7. They are among a group of 10,000 participants who run the 26.2 miles to the finish line to raise funds and awareness for more than 190 local, national and global causes.
“For ALZ Stars, this marathon is much more than a race,” said Ellie Simpson, Manager of Athletic Events for the Alzheimer’s Association. “It’s personal. It’s a mother, grandfather, brother…it’s a life worth fighting for and a future worth saving for millions of people we love who are affected by this disease. It’s our reason to run and cross the ultimate finish line of a world without Alzheimer’s that keeps us moving.”
Please consider volunteering your time to cheer on this special group of runners on race day or showing your support with a donation!
