Breast cancer gene may affect Alzheimer’s disease
Researchers know that mutations of a certain gene contribute to a higher risk of developing breast and ovarian cancers. For the first time, scientists say the gene may also play a part in the nerve death responsible for Alzheimer’s disease. The study results are preliminary, but the researchers believe future investigations on the gene may potentially lead to new Alzheimer’s treatments.
