Join me in the fight against Alzheimer’s
For decades, the world turned to my mother for advice via her “Dear Abby” column. I never dreamed she would ever encounter a problem she couldn’t solve — until she faced younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
The diagnosis was devastating and ironic. In 1980, she had published a letter about Alzheimer’s disease in her newspaper column, giving international attention to a disease that was little known at the time. Then in the mid-1980s she began developing symptoms of Alzheimer’s herself.
I took on two of my mom’s roles: Dear Abby and Alzheimer’s Association Champion.
Today, I regularly financially support the Alzheimer’s Association and share in the common goal of eliminating this thief of the mind. I know that you share this goal too, Zoltan. Will you join me and champion the cause? Any gift you make — $35, $60, $120 or more — will make a difference to families like mine. And like your own.
I hope that one day I will no longer receive letters to Abby about Alzheimer’s disease because we will have stopped this devastating disease together. Until then, please make your most generous gift today.
