One Evanston businessman is in the island of Crete to kayak approximately 350 miles as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter.
Bob Danon is picking up the paddle to kayak around at least three of Crete’s coasts hoping to raise awareness, and funds, for the Greater Illinois Chapter. Follow Bob’s observations and commentary during his incredible journey.

Starring Julianne Moore, Still Alice shows the Alzheimer’s process from the point of view of a person with the disease. My family was affected my Alzheimer’s when my grandma was diagnosed. I was her caregiver until 2010 when she passed away. I walk for her and for every single person present future and past that has fought this disease. My story isn’t a SECRET and the only way to spread awareness is to speak out, I knew I could do that in our community with invited others to join us, learn the facts and make a change.
