Running for Endurance, Strength, and Courage
The Lincoln Squares Relay Team is a group of friends who met at Fleet Feet Chick Night. We may have started as a group of running partners but true friendship naturally followed. Our team values running, health, and above all, the personal support and strength we provide for each other in our daily lives. We support each other through everything from celebrating race PRs to enduring personal struggles.

Alzheimer’s Association® Blondes vs. Brunettes® Kicks-off in Chicago

The Alzheimer’s Association Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football game kicks-off on Saturday, June 16 at the North Avenue Turf Fields at Stockton Dr. and LaSalle St. in Chicago.
Registration is now open for this event. The two teams are divided based on the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes, while increasing awareness of Alzheimer’s disease among a new generation (Note: Redheads are “free agents,” permitted to play for the team of their choice). Funds raised will benefit the care, support, advocacy and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Clinical Trials key to finding a cure

Clinical trials are the engine that powers medical progress. Through clinical trials, researchers test new ways to detect, treat and prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Without clinical trials, there can be no new treatments or cures.
Over the last 15 years, scientists have made enormous strides in understanding how Alzheimer’s disease affects the brain. Currently, the drugs available for the treatment of Alzheimer’s only temporarily improve the symptoms of the disease; they do not stop the damage to brain cells that causes Alzheimer’s to progress.
